At Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS), we believe that education drives excellence and we’re looking for a visionary leader to take our training programs to the next level. As our Director of Training, you’ll design, implement, and oversee clinical training initiatives that empower our teams to deliver the highest quality specialty and emergency care.
This is a new, high-impact leadership role that will shape the future of clinical onboarding, staff development, and retention at our hospital.
What You’’ll Do
· Build & Innovate: Develop a comprehensive training framework to support onboarding, skill progression, and clinical excellence across all departments.
· Lead & Inspire: Manage a team of clinical trainers, fostering a culture of growth, consistency, and collaboration.
· Elevate Standards: Create standardized curricula, assessment tools, and competency checklists to ensure fairness, clarity, and alignment with hospital-wide goals.
· Drive Excellence: Partner with hospital leadership to ensure training aligns with medical protocols, patient safety, and operational priorities.
· Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with HR, department managers, and recruiting to support employee development and strengthen retention initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Leadership Experience: 3 years in a leadership role, including managing training programs or people.
- Training Expertise: Experience designing and implementing training programs, ideally in clinical or healthcare settings.
- Strong Skills: Excellent communication, project management, and organizational abilities.
- Tech-Savvy Educator: Familiar with learning management systems (LMS), instructional design, and adult learning principles.
- Passion for Growth: A strategic thinker who thrives on developing people and improving systems.
