What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Improvement Assistant Manager position at Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary
Under the general guidance of the Financial Improvement Manager (FIM), the Financial Improvement Assistant Manager (FIAM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Hospital Chargemaster. This includes hospital fee schedules, Lawson data accuracy, CPT/HCPCS year-end updates, Finance/Willow Pharmacy Process and 340B drug accuracy.
The FIAM will participate in Value Analysis Program, performing applicable research and financial reporting as needed. The FIAM will oversee ambulatory price estimate process making sure we are compliant with No Surprise Act regulations
The FIAM will support and provide supervision to the CDM coordinator, in the respective areas as needed.
The FIAM will work closely with the FIM to make sure all charges are appropriately built to ensure efficient and accurate billing. Special projects may be assigned by the Financial Improvement Manager as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant healthcare business office experience OR Associate's Degree and four years of relevant healthcare business office experience. Strong communication skills, analytical, and interpersonal skills necessary. Strong working knowledge of chargemaster processes and CMS rules/regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of four years chargemaster experience. Coding Certification (CPC or RHIT).
Work Days
Monday-Friday days, with off shift hours based on operational needs
