A teller receives and pays out funds from members accounts.  They also accurately keep record of money, checks, money orders, etc. involved in the credit union’s various transactions.  The teller meets the needs of members by providing quality service. 

Expectations: 

·         Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members
·         Maintain member confidentiality 
·         Maintain a professional work environment and a businesslike appearance 
·         Maintain a high level of accuracy in posting member transactions
·         Maintain a good attendance record 
·         Follow all security procedures and policies
·         Follow all operational procedures and policies regarding members transactions and information
·         Participate in training programs offered
·         Be courteous, tactful, and diplomatic

Primary Responsibilities:

**Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable staff with disabilities to perform the primary function. 

·         Provide members with quality member service at the teller window, drive thru and telephone
·         Answering telephone to provide members with requested information or re-routing call if needed
·         Receive share and share draft deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of transactions. 
·         Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on federal regulations and complete hold notices (if applicable) 
·         Identify possible counterfeit currency.
·         Issue money orders and cashier checks 
·         Accept loan payments: verify the amount and issue receipts of payment.
·         Post incoming mail and night deposits
·         Balance cash drawer daily, including periodic balancing throughout day.
·         Work with members to eliminate any account warnings on their account
·         Sort and distribute incoming mail 
·         Process return mail and address changes (South Branch)
·         Ensure lobby and teller areas are neat and clean
·         Process check orders 
·         Process ATM/Debit card orders
·         Assist members with address changes
·         Distribute incoming faxes in a timely manner
·         Scan checks daily 
·         Follow up to ensure that all opening and closing procedures are followed 
·         Image documents into eFichency 
·         Cross sell product and services 
·         Replenish transaction request forms  
·         Assist members in accessing safety deposit boxes
·         Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

·         Excellent member service skills
·         Mathematical skill
·         Strong communication and organizational skills
·         Strong computer, telephone, calculator and other office machine knowledge
·         Ability to work in fast-paced environment 
·         Ability to make sound decisions
·         Familiar with regulations and the teller role
·         Previous teller experience preferred but not required

Physical Demands:

·         This position requires bending, stooping, limited lifting and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to remain in a stationary sitting position 20% of the time.  Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, fax, etc.  Must be able to communicate well with others.  Occasional lifting of 10 lbs.

·         No travel is expected for this position.
