Core Responsibilities
As a School Aide, you’ll work closely with classroom teachers and therapists to support students in achieving their individualized education goals. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with classroom activities tailored to each student’s IEP
- Supporting students during community occupational outings and field trips
- Providing help with personal care and mealtime routines
- Assisting in lunch preparation and cleanup
- Maintaining classroom organization and cleanliness
- Documenting observations and data with clarity and accuracy
- Collaborating with therapists to implement therapy goals
- Creating a positive, person-centered environment for every student
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid New York State Driver’s License
- Basic computer skills (Adobe Acrobat, Word, Outlook)
- A caring attitude and a commitment to helping others succeed
