About the Role:

The Doorstaff position is critical in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment for guests entering a venue. This role involves managing access control, verifying identification, and maintaining order at entry points to prevent unauthorized access. The Doorstaff acts as the first point of contact, representing the establishment's standards of hospitality and security. They must be vigilant in identifying potential risks and handling difficult situations calmly and professionally. Ultimately, the Doorstaff contributes to a positive guest experience while upholding safety protocols and venue policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or meet local legal requirements for security personnel.
• Valid government-issued identification.
• Basic knowledge of security procedures and crowd management.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in doorstaff, security, or customer service roles.
• Certification in security or crowd management (e.g., SIA license or equivalent).
• First aid training or certification.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation training.
• Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse clientele.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and verify their identification to ensure compliance with age and entry requirements.
• Monitor and control access to the venue, preventing entry to unauthorized or disruptive individuals.
• Conduct security checks such as bag inspections and pat-downs in accordance with venue policies.
• Manage crowd flow and assist in maintaining orderly queues during busy periods.
• Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or disturbances, coordinating with security or law enforcement as necessary.
• Communicate clearly with guests and team members to provide information and resolve issues.
• Maintain detailed logs of incidents and report any suspicious activity to management.
• Assist Serving staff by clearing service from tables and returning items to be washed to the bar.
• Perform bar support responsibilities by running kegs, ice, liquor, and any other ice that the serving staff need behind the bar.

Observational skills are essential for identifying potential security risks and managing crowd behavior proactively.
