What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant position at Upson Regional Medical Center?
Goes to doctor’s offices and nursing homes to pick up specimens daily; assists the pathologist in the gross cutting room, preparing specimens; assists a histology technician; assists the pathologist with autopsies; assists with front office duties, including assisting the phlebotomists in collecting specimens on patients of all ages, from neonates to the elderly; knows the importance of age specific needs as defined in the age specific competency checklist.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Lab, or related field
License, Certification, Etc:
- BLS (optional)
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
Experience:
- No minimum
Prefer:
- One year experience in a hospital environment as a lab assistant

Schedule: Full Time, Days, five days a week
