Lead Technical Architect

A fast-growing technology company in the home care industry is seeking a Lead Technical Architect to guide the architecture, design, and development of a modern full-stack TypeScript platform that supports thousands of caregivers and agencies nationwide. This organization builds mobile and web solutions that streamline scheduling, charting, documentation, payroll, billing, and other mission-critical workflows for home care providers.

As the Lead Technical Architect, you will serve as a senior technical thought partner — shaping architectural direction, owning complex system design, and guiding the engineering team in building scalable, reliable, and high-performing applications. This role is ideal for someone with 10 years of experience who thrives in a hands-on lead capacity while also influencing technical standards, mentoring developers, and driving platform evolution.

What You’ll Lead

• Architect, design, and implement complex features across both backend and frontend systems.
• Champion clean, maintainable, testable code and enforce best practices across the engineering team.
• Conduct and lead peer code reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and long-term maintainability.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests aligned with CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineering leadership to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex production and development issues efficiently.
• Maintain high-quality technical documentation: API specs, architectural decisions, onboarding materials, and system diagrams.
• Break down epics and feature requirements into actionable tasks, define scope, and support sprint planning.
• Provide technical ownership of major services or platform components from design through deployment and ongoing optimization.
• Mentor and upskill junior and mid-level developers through pairing, coaching, and code review leadership.
• Stay current on emerging tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns relevant to the team’s stack.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering workflows, tooling, deployment processes, and development standards.
• Ensure system architecture and code adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.

What You Bring

• 10 years of experience in TypeScript/JavaScript engineering and full-stack development.
• Strong background in Computer Science, software development, and client/server system architecture.
• Deep expertise with TypeScript, React, Apollo/GraphQL, and modern front-end and back-end frameworks.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and scalable data architecture.
• Experience designing cloud-based solutions in Azure (preferred).
• Strong command of Git workflows, modern software development methodologies, and CI/CD practices.
• Proven ability to mentor and lead other engineers in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to untangle complex architectural challenges.
• Clear, confident communication and the ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Experience building healthcare applications or working in regulated environments is a plus.
