Primary Therapist

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Therapist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy and clinical support to individuals and families facing mental health, addiction, and behavioral challenges. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine treatment needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques, ensuring client safety and stabilization.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, case management, and discharge planning while maintaining accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups focused on addiction counseling, PTSD care, social work strategies, and behavior management.
• Maintain detailed records of patient progress using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for billing purposes.
• Stay current with best practices in behavioral health by participating in ongoing research, training, and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; a master's degree or higher is preferred.
• Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent.
• Proven experience in mental health counseling, addiction treatment, or behavioral health settings; hospital experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards.
• Skilled in crisis management techniques with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
• Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools such as ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for documentation accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients across diverse backgrounds while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Pay: $55,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
