Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Therapist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine treatment needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques, ensuring client safety and stabilization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, case management, and discharge planning while maintaining accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups focused on addiction counseling, PTSD care, social work strategies, and behavior management.
- Maintain detailed records of patient progress using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Stay current with best practices in behavioral health by participating in ongoing research, training, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; a master's degree or higher is preferred.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mental health counseling, addiction treatment, or behavioral health settings; hospital experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Skilled in crisis management techniques with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools such as ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for documentation accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients across diverse backgrounds while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
