POSITION: Equipment Operator

DEPARTMENT: Road & Bridge

BEGINNING SALARY: $ s/m

REQUIREMENTS:

Ø Must be at least 18 years of age

Ø Must have a valid driver's license with CDL or be able to obtain CL A CDL within 90 days; endorsements are beneficial

Ø Must have a good working knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment used and of the provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code relating to operation of such motorized equipment

Ø Must have ability to service and make minor repairs on equipment and to know safety standards and how to prevent hazards

Ø Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions

Ø Must have a clean driving record, insurable by the County, for operation of equipment

Ø Must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees

Ø Must be able to climb on and off all equipment

Ø Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs effectively and safely

Ø Must be able to work in variable weather conditions

Ø Must maintain telephone contact to be utilized for emergency work

DUTIES:

Operate two or more of the following: Backhoe, dump truck, loader, reclaimer, tractor, boom-axe, motor grader, pickup, chainsaw, etc.

Any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor
