Supervising Psychologist – Child, Adolescent & Family Services

Full-Time or Part-Time | Hybrid | Pelham, NY

Upshur Bren Psychology Group is seeking a thoughtful, collaborative licensed psychologist (PhD or PsyD) to join our team in a supervisory clinical role supporting the development of early-career therapists and trainees.

This position is designed for a clinician who is interested in stepping into a supervisory and teaching role, and in deepening their impact through mentorship and thoughtful clinical collaboration within a team-based practice. The role combines a meaningful outpatient caseload with the opportunity to supervise and support developing clinicians across multiple training levels, including postdoctoral fellows, provisionally licensed therapists, and graduate trainees.

Our practice specializes in therapy with children, adolescents, parents, and families, with a clinical orientation that integrates evidence-based treatment with relational, psychodynamic, attachment-informed, trauma-informed, and systems-based approaches, alongside CBT and other third-wave behavioral therapies.

We are looking for someone who brings strong clinical judgment, intellectual curiosity, and who values contributing to a collaborative clinical culture.

This role represents an entry point into the leadership structure of the practice, with opportunities over time to take on additional supervisory and program development responsibilities.

This position is especially well-suited for clinicians who enjoy working within a thoughtful, team-based clinical environment and are interested in building a long-term professional home within a collaborative practice.

Core Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Maintain an active outpatient psychotherapy caseload working with children, adolescents, parents, and families.
  • Provide thoughtful, developmentally attuned therapy that integrates evidence-based approaches with relational and systems-oriented clinical thinking, supporting children and families through complex emotional, developmental, and relational challenges.

Clinical Supervision

  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision to therapists at various stages of training, including licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed therapists, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate trainees.
  • Support supervisees in developing strong case formulation skills, diagnostic clarity, and thoughtful treatment planning.
  • Review clinical documentation and support quality assurance processes related to training and licensure requirements.
  • Provide individual supervision and group supervision.

Training & Clinical Collaboration

  • Participate in weekly case conference and team consultation.
  • Attend bi-monthly supervisors meetings.
  • Contribute to the training culture of the practice by providing 2–3 clinical didactics annually.
  • Collaborate with practice leadership to support a culture of thoughtful clinical dialogue and mentorship.

Work Schedule

This is a hybrid role combining in-person and virtual work.

Because much of our work involves children and families, clinicians must maintain availability during after-school hours at our Pelham, NY office.

Part-time schedule requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 weekly 3:30–6:30pm blocks in person
  • Minimum 1 early morning (8:00–9:30am) or evening (6:30–8:00pm) block
  • Full-time schedule requirements

    • Minimum 3–4 weekly 3:30–6:30pm blocks in person
    • Minimum 1 early morning (8:00–9:30am) or evening (6:30–8:00pm) block

Clinical supervision typically occurs before 3:00pm and may be conducted virtually or in person.

Full-time clinicians maintain approximately 24 clinical sessions per week, and part-time clinicians approximately 12 sessions per week, alongside supervisory and team responsibilities.

    Professional Growth

We view this role as the beginning of a leadership path within the practice. As the practice grows, supervisors have opportunities to co-create areas of professional development that align with their interests while also supporting the evolving needs of the practice.

These opportunities may include expanded supervision responsibilities, development of clinical training initiatives, and leadership roles within emerging specialty programs.

    Qualifications

    • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program
    • Licensed to practice in New York
    • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
    • Prior supervision experience
    • Strong diagnostic and case formulation skills
