Postdoctoral Fellowship in Child, Adolescent, and Family Psychology

Upshur Bren Psychology Group | Pelham, NY Hybrid

Fall 2027 – 2028 Cohort

Upshur Bren Psychology Group is thrilled to invite applications for our Postdoctoral Fellowship in Child, Adolescent, and Family Psychology. We are seeking warm, self-directed clinicians who are passionate about deepening their clinical expertise in a collaborative, growth-oriented private practice. This is a fee-for-service fellowship with the potential for continued employment post-licensure.

Our postdoctoral fellows are integral members of our team. You’ll have the flexibility to shape your caseload, the opportunity to specialize, and the support of experienced supervisors dedicated to your growth as a clinician.

What Makes Our Fellowship Special

Our integrative training approach emphasizes clinical depth and flexibility, blending evidence-based psychodynamic, relational, and family systems therapies with behavioral and skills-based interventions. Fellows receive hands-on training in a wide range of modalities, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems, DBT, ACT, SPACE, somatic and mindfulness-based interventions, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), brief relational psychotherapy, women's mental health, parent-child therapy, and parenting coaching.

In addition, our fellowship offers:

  • Weekly individual and group supervision, including didactics and case consultation led by our Clinical Director and team

  • A supportive and collaborative clinical team culture

  • Flexible scheduling outside of required after-school in-person hours, with a hybrid of in-person and telehealth sessions

  • Opportunities to explore specialized interests, such as parent-child work, neurodiverse populations (ASD/ADHD), or neuropsychological assessment, with dedicated supervision

  • A fee-for-service compensation model with estimated annual earnings between $55,000–85,000 , depending on caseload and services provided, with a guaranteed compensation increase upon licensure.

  • Professional development support, including a stipend for CE or other training

  • For full-time fellows: medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits

  • The potential for post-licensure employment on our team

Fellowship Structure

Schedule

  • 5 days/week

  • In-person clinical hours required from 3:30–6:30 PM, Monday through Friday

  • Outside of these hours: flexible scheduling, hybrid in-person/telehealth sessions

Duration

  • Full-time: 2-year fellowship (minimum of 22 sessions per week), with guaranteed compensation increase upon licensure

  • Part-time: 3-year fellowship (minimum of 16 sessions per week), with guaranteed compensation increase upon licensure

Optional Specialty Track

Fellows interested in expanding their skills in neurodiversity services may apply for an optional Neurodiversity Specialty track, which includes neuropsychological assessment training, additional supervision in working with neurodiverse children, parents, and families (ASD/ADHD), and opportunities to be involved in programmatic development of our Neurodiversity Services Program. (**Applicants interested in this track are asked to include 2 de-identified neuropsychological evaluation reports with their application materials.)

You're a great fit for our team if you:

  • Are warm, collaborative, self-directed, and have strong organizational skills

  • Value lifelong learning and growth

  • Want to work with children, teens, parents, and families, and enjoy supporting the entire family system

  • Are open to feedback and value a team-oriented, supportive work culture

  • Are interested in shaping your early-career clinical identity in private practice
