Duties
- Set up attractive displays of fresh frozen fish
- Engage with shoppers through friendly communication, product demonstrations, and sharing the story behind your offerings
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for cash and card transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling and retail math calculations
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and upselling items to enhance sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about the benefits and uses of your products, encouraging repeat business
- Maintain stock levels by merchandising and restocking products throughout the market day to ensure a full and appealing display
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience in grocery stores or farmers markets is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for local food and community engagement is essential
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to better serve diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills are necessary for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills are vital for engaging customers effectively and providing excellent service
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, upselling, and product demos will help maximize sales potential
