Position: Part-Time Cafeteria Worker (sign-on bonus $750 after working 90 days)

Schedule: This position has a set schedule, which is primarily Monday through Friday at 4.75 hours per day (for the breakfast and lunch for our students).

Summary:

Our Cafeteria Workers and Cooks are responsible for preparing and/or building food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by school location.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares, Cooks and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Sets up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes work stations
• Cafeteria Workers serve food to students, teachers and other building officials while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers’ needs
• Replenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to District policies and procedures which includes proper food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of District assets
• Other duties and tasks assigned by manager

Qualifications:

• Previous food service experience preferred- for Cafeteria Workers. Previous Cooking experience for Cook role
• Must be able to obtain food safety certification
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
• Final candidate must be able to complete and pass a worker Capacity Test after offer is extended.

Education and/or experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
