What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) position at Upper Scioto Valley Ambulance District?
Responsibilities: - Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to patients in various settings, including hospitals, homes, and public areas. - Assess patients' conditions and perform necessary medical procedures, such as administering medications, injections, and CPR. - Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize patient care and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. - Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and performing physical examinations. - Document all patient interactions, treatments provided, and observations accurately and thoroughly.
Qualifications: - Valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic. - Proficient in performing patient assessments and administering medications. - Ability to lift heavy objects and assist with the movement of patients when necessary.
