Responsibilities
- Regularly cleaning patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, laboratory areas, waiting areas and public restrooms
- Disinfecting beds, furnishings, and medical equipment, and ensuring all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Collecting and properly disposing of waste, including hazardous materials and bio-waste like blood or bodily fluids
- Replenishing room supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and towels
- Performing routine floor care, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
- Following all health and safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment
- Reporting any damage, repairs or replacements needed within the facilities
Experience
- Proven work experience as a housekeeper in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
- Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs)
- High school diploma is preferred
Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
