LABORATORY COURIER

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30am-12:30pm*
*Except holidays or in the event of extreme weather declared by UOSA
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
The Upper Occoquan Service Authority, located in Centreville, VA, is a leader in water reclamation, has an immediate temporary opening for a Laboratory Courier within the Regulatory Affairs Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•The candidate will be responsible for receiving and transporting environmental samples (water and soil) from the UOSA plant site in Centreville, VA to the offsite UOSA Lab at the Northern Virginia Bioscience Center in Manassas, VA using a UOSA provided company vehicle.
•They will inspect the sample bottles and document the exact samples received as a part of the receiving process.
•The candidate must follow chain of custody procedures and maintain preservation requirements for regulatory samples.
•They will also wash and prepare the sample bottles for each day’s sample collection following Lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
•The candidate will dispose of samples appropriately.
•The candidate will perform other duties as assigned.
•May be exposed to wastewater biological and chemical hazards.
•Courier may undergo training to conduct certain basic laboratory analyses after they have successfully mastered their responsibilities and demonstrated analytical proficiency.
