ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The Upper Occoquan Service Authority (UOSA) is a regional water reclamation plant serving four jurisdictions (Fairfax County, Prince William County, City of Manassas, and City of Manassas Park).
DUTIES INCLUDE
Summer Hire is responsible for performing tasks from simple and repetitive to more challenging and difficult. Assignments are performed independently as well as in conjunction with other employees and may involve tasks to be learned on the job. Work is mainly performed under the guidance of the Delivery Systems Managers, who assigns work and checks completion. The Summer Hire receives supervision from the DS Manager, DS Assistant Manager, and Operators.
Examples of Work (include, but are not limited to):
- Assist Operators- Miss Utility marking, CCTV/flushing interceptors, easement clearing.
- Preventive Management – Power wash driveways and concrete walkways, buildings, vaults, etc.
- Fence Management – Clear fence easement of weeds and debris; remove vines.
- Trees/bushes – Plant, prune limbs, water, etc.
- Manhole repairs- Tap threads, mix concrete, and parge rings.
- Pump Station housekeeping chores.
- Clean louvers and intake screens of bugs and debris.
- More intensive and complex pump station PM/CM tasks are available as abilities are demonstrated.
Salary : $15 - $18
