Reports to: Custodial & Warehouse Supervisor (1st Level) / Facilities Director (2nd Level)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) – Service Employees International Union Local 32 BJ District 1201
Schedule: Full Time, 8 hours/day, 12 Months

SUMMARY:
Coordinates daily the custodial responsibilities and needs of the building including principal and staff requests while maintaining assigned cleaning and security responsibilities. This position is classified as emergency personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

- Oversees daily custodial assignments to ensure that all areas are properly maintained and secure.
- Reviews principal assignment requests and ensures that assignments are completed.
- Reviews building usage log and ensures that all areas are accessible and open for usage.
- Ensures that areas are properly cleaned and secure at the end of activities.
- Ensures daily safety and security of the building. Reports to the maintenance department and building principal any maintenance needs and security concerns.
- Inventories and maintains department supplies.
- Coordinates and assists in the movement of furniture and supplies as needed.
- Cleans and maintains designated area inside and outside the assigned building. This includes but is not limited to routine snow removal, cleaning, proper trash recycling, and disposal.
- Responds to emergency needs, including, but not limited to, snow and ice removal, emergency clean up when necessary.
- Classified as emergency personnel and must report for designated duties in the event of inclement weather conditions; time and duties assigned by the Director of Facilities and/or Custodial & Warehouse Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of two years of prior custodial and/or light maintenance experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written.
- Ability to ambulate a ladder to roof level
- Ability to work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions
- Ability to report to work in inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and crawl for a period of 8 hours per day
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals
- Ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to model effective cleaning and building operations to other team members
- Ability to perform basic computer skills to include email, web, and keyboarding
- Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements.
