What are the responsibilities and job description for the SECURITY GUARD position at Upper Merion Area School District?
A vacancy exists for a Full-Time Security Guard for the Upper Merion Area School District for the School Year 2026-27
Work Days: 190days (to coincide with the student school year)
Salary Range: $18.00-$22.00 (Hour)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Patrol and monitor district campuses to maintain order and security.
- Report any unusual conditions or malfunctioning of heating, plumbing, or electrical systems.
- Enforce district rules, regulations, and policies for the safety and security of students, staff, and property according to established procedures.
- Maintain security of school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
- Provide crowd and/or traffic control during scheduled activities and/or emergencies.
- Direct bus and car traffic.
- Assist with crossing students.
- Assist bus coordinators during loading times.
- Monitor parking areas when a large crowd attends sporting or evening events.
- Observe, and if necessary, intervene to ensure appropriate student behavior with school rules; intervene in situations of verbal and physical conflict; write referrals and incident reports according to established guidelines.
- Report unusual activities or unauthorized persons; orient and direct campus visitors.
- Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Principals and/or District School Safety Officer
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Valid PA Driver’s License
- Must have own vehicle
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must meet all physical requirements
