Position Summary
The Coordinator for Education Compliance and Program Operations provides leadership and oversight for regulatory compliance, accreditation documentation, licensure processes, assessment systems, clinical documentation, and operational procedures within the Teacher Education Department, Master of Education Department, and Master of Science in Counseling Department. This position ensures alignment with Iowa Department of Education requirements, Board of Educational Examiners (BoEE) regulations, and Higher Learning Commission expectations while supporting faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities
Compliance & Accreditation
- Maintain and update accreditation documentation for state and federal reporting (State Annual Report, Title II, Paraeducator Report, Novice Teacher Report).
- Coordinate curriculum exhibit submissions and collaborate with Chair to obtain approvals from the BoEE.
- Track and document legislative changes impacting educator preparation.
- Maintain reaccreditation evidence files and governance documentation.
- Record various meeting minutes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- In collaboration with the department chair, the automated compliance dashboard will be monitored to ensure all required documentation remains current and in compliance.
- Background Checks & Risk Management
- Licensure & Student Credentialing
- Prepare various recommendation letters for different stages of licensure.
- Track mandatory graduation and licensure requirements for students.
- Develop and maintain procedural manuals for department operations.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as primary liaison between Teacher Education, Registrar, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Iowa Department of Education, and BoEE.
- Communicate licensure and compliance updates to students and department stakeholders.
- Support strategic planning efforts to ensure program growth, compliance, and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Knowledge of educator preparation accreditation and licensure requirements.
- Strong organizational, data management, and compliance tracking skills.
- Ability to interpret and implement legislative and regulatory changes.
- Experience with higher education administrative systems preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
