Job Summary:
As an Account Executive at Upper Hand, you will own the full sales cycle and help sports and fitness organizations modernize how they operate. You will identify high-potential prospects, lead structured discovery conversations, demonstrate how our platform solves operational challenges, and guide buyers through to close.
This role is ideal for a consultative seller who is comfortable hunting for new business, running disciplined sales processes, and managing deals from the first touch through closed-won.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Sales Ownership
- Manage the entire sales process from outbound prospecting and discovery calls to live product demonstrations and closing the deal.
- Establish clear next steps and drive deals forward with urgency and accountability.
- Consultative Selling
- Conduct structured discovery to understand operational pain points around scheduling, registration, and payment processing..
- Position Upper Hand as a business solution, not just a software
- Tailor demos to each prospect’s needs and business model
- Outbound Prospecting and Pipeline Generation
- Proactively source new opportunities through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and industry outreach
- Balance inbound lead follow-up with outbound pipeline creation
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline to consistently achieve quota
- Pipeline Management
- Maintain an organized and active CRM (Hubspot)
- Manage opportunities through defined sales stages
- Provide reliable forecasting and pipeline visibility
- Product and Market Expertise
- Become an expert in the Upper Hand platform and competitive landscape
- Staying up-to-date on new features
- Stay informed on industry trends impacting sports businesses
Required Experience, Education, & Skills:
- 1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced sales environment (SaaS or Sports/Fitness industry experience is a major plus).
- You are a self-starter with a competitive spirit who is motivated by hitting (and exceeding) monthly quotas.
- You can explain complex software features in a way that is simple, relatable, and compelling to a busy business owner.
- You have a growth mindset and are eager to take feedback to sharpen your sales craft.
- Comfortable using modern sales tools (HubSpot, Google Suite, CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.) to optimize your workflow.
