The Upper Darby School District is seeking applicants for a full-time Certified School Nurse position. 



Qualifications: 

  1. PA Instructional Certificate School Nurse PK-12
  2. Out-of-state educators and anyone seeking an emergency certificate should review the guidelines set by the PA Department of Education. Pennsylvania Certification information is available at https://www.education.pa.gov/Educators/Certification/Pages/default.aspx
  3. Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  4. Current PA Registered Nurse License
  5. CPR/AED Certification
  6. Background/experience preferred in certificate school nursing, pediatric nursing, community health nursing, critical care nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and/or emergency room nursing.

Job Description:

 

The Certified School Nurse plans, implements, and evaluates the mandated School Health Services as defined by the Pennsylvania School Code and initiates health problem follow-up, counseling and referrals to ensure comprehensive student health care.   The goals of the CSN position are to maintain and/or improve the health status of students, thus enabling them to profit fully from their educational experiences; and, to promote optimum health status and lifestyles for all students through the joint efforts of the home, school and community.

To provide a comprehensive school health services program for students, following the guidelines of the PA School Code, PA DOH Regulations, the Division of School Heath Guidelines, PA DOE Regulations, and school district policies.
