Title: Director of Finance and Operations
Full time/Exempt: Typical hours are 8a-4p Mon-Fri. However, there may be times when events or responsibilities will require later hours and Saturdays.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Operations oversees accounting, finance management and audit functions; will also assist with mortgage services, risk management and legal, including insurance, and assisting in contracts and grant compliance as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
· Effectively manage and direct financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, fixed assets, general ledger, budget, money market accounts, CDs, and audit.
· Reconciliation of accounts i.e. credit card statements, bank and investment accounts, electronic payments, etc.
· Preparing deposits for transport to local institutions.
· Management and oversight of affiliate payroll and IRA enrollment.
· Financial forecasting for the affiliate based on knowledge of budgets and projected cash flow.
· Direct risk management insurance and liability issues for the protection of the affiliate and its employees. Manage relationships with all insurance carriers and direct processes for renewals and compliance.
· Direct asset management function, including cash management, loan compliance, and reporting.
· Ensure compliance with the Financial and Accounting Policies required by Habitat for Humanity International and on the Quality Assurance Checklist.
· Coordinate an annual audit of the affiliate.
· COI and W9 data management of subcontractors for annual workers comp audit.
· Attend meetings of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
· Basic employee relations, i.e. onboarding, offboarding, etc.
· Records management, data redundancy i.e. ledgers, CRM, etc.
· PTO Management
· Assisting with Mortgage servicing, reconciliation, transfers, and annual escrow analysis
· Assisting with HOA dues, financials, contracts, etc.
· Asset management, inventory, etc.
· Coordinate with and support each department.
Additional Tasks
- Attend staff, department, and committee meetings as well as affiliate celebrations.
- Ensure HFHI’s policies and quality assurance items are followed in regard to your departments.
- Develop department and project budgets with Executive Director and Executive Committee.
- Continue education by attending training opportunities.
Other tasks as needed or as requested by the Executive Director to support the mission of Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity.
Requirements
· Bachelors degree in related field preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of completed degree.
· Experience with nonprofit organizations preferred.
· Computer literacy and working knowledge of office software applications and programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks. Ability to learn new programs is required.
· Organizational, planning, and collaborative skills. Attention to detail. Interpersonal and communication skills. Sound judgment, integrity, and ability to keep confidential information.
