Position Overview: Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative High School Biology Teacher. At UCT, we prepare students for both college and career success by integrating high-level academic instruction with real-world technical applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching diverse groups of students in grades 9-12, ensuring they meet Massachusetts state standards while understanding the vital role biological sciences play in various technical industries (such as Health Careers, Environmental Technology, and Horticulture).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Integrated Curriculum: Plan and facilitate Biology lessons that align with Massachusetts High School Science Standards.
Instructional Excellence: Use research-based pedagogical strategies, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and SEI practices, to ensure content is accessible to all learners.
Classroom Culture: Manage classroom behavior using a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), fostering a professional environment that mirrors the expectations of the modern workplace.
Laboratory Safety: Lead hands-on laboratory activities with strict adherence to safety protocols.
Data-Driven Instruction: Utilize student performance data and MCAS results to drive instructional decisions and provide targeted interventions.
Inclusion: Collaborate with the Special Education department to consistently deliver IEP and 504 accommodations.
Communication: Maintain regular, professional communication with families regarding student progress, utilizing culturally responsive strategies.
