- Calendar: 177 Day / School Year Employee
- Hours per Day: 5 hours
- Daily Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Benefits: Eligible for paid sick time. IMRF participation is required if the position works 600 hours in one year.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Spanish speaking is preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use email, database, spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Experience with district SIS system is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and use good judgment in an environment with frequent interruptions under minimum supervision.
- Respect confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability for attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Professionally represent the school and District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students in a positive manner.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff, students, parents, administrative personnel and others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Self motivated with the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of large office copiers.
Responsibilities / Duties:
A portion of the day will be spent completing Copy Room Clerk duties, and a portion will be spent completing Attendance Clerk duties.
Attendance Clerk Duties:
- Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practices.
- Compile, maintain, and input accurate and complete attendance data into the student data system.
- Maintain all incoming correspondence regarding absences due to court visits and doctors appointments.
- Process requests as students arrive and leave throughout the day ensuring parental consent.
- Audit student tracking documents and attendance lists to eliminate legitimate reasons for absence before referring students for cutting a class.
- Communicate with parents to notify them about a student absence and determine the reason for the student's absence.
- Compile and submit accurate daily, weekly, monthly and year-end reports as required.
- Monitor absenteeism and present information to administrators, teachers, parents and students regarding student attendance and attendance policies.
- Assist administrative staff as needed.
- Complete the monthly Add/Drop report and circulate copies as needed.
- Monitor errors in teacher attendance entry.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Copy Room Clerk Duties:
- Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practices.
- Copy various classroom materials, forms, tests, reports, etc.
- Maintain copier supplies
- Prioritize and maintain a schedule of printed material requests.
- Make maintenance calls as needed for the coping equipment.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
- Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting.
