What are the responsibilities and job description for the Attendance Interventionist position at Upper Campus?
Start Date: Immediate
Terms of Employment:
- Responsible To: Building Principal or designee
- Location: Upper Campus
- Level: Paraprofessional Level I
- Calendar: 177 days / School-Year Employee (prorated based upon start date)
- Hours per Day: 7.5 hours per day which includes a 15-minute paid break
- Daily Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:15 am to 3:15 pm
- Unpaid Meal Break: 30 minutes
- Benefits: Medical insurance, paid sick time, paid personal time, and IMRF participation
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Illinois Paraprofessional License is required
- 30 college hours preferred, but not required
- Must be flexible and adaptable to surroundings and situations
- Must be able to apply initiative when necessary
- Possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
- Proficient in computer software with an emphasis in Google, school databases, and spreadsheets
- Must have strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and computer skills
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practices.
- Understand McHenry High School policies and procedures for class cuts and tardies
- Use the Student Information System (SIS) as required
- Schedule and prepare data for weekly meetings
- Maintain a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files (manual and computer) for the purpose of providing reliable information in compliance with district policies
- Meet with students that have attendance and tardy issues, assign student detentions per policy
- Provide office back-up
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
- Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting.
