Description: In coordination with the building principal, the Assistant Principal identifies and implements instructional and operational supports and best practices that impact student achievement.

Qualifications
- Master's degree (M.A.) from an accredited college or university
- Appropriate State of Ohio licensure
- Five to ten years of successful classroom teaching and building administration experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
- Provides building-level curriculum and instructional leadership through attendance at department meetings, department head meetings, monthly faculty meetings, classroom observations, and faculty communication meetings
- Works with members of the Teaching and Learning Department on all curriculum matters pertaining to the school
- Supervises and evaluates certified and classified staff as assigned by the principal
- Participates in numerous committees to foster innovation and to enhance learning
- Problem solves building and staff concerns through department chairs, building committees, and staff meetings.
- Serves as a mentor to current and aspiring administrators
- Serves as the lead administrator in the development of courses, course scheduling, and final student and staff placements
- Analyzes assessment data to inform instruction and increase student achievement
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student files, student IEPs, medical records, personnel files, documentation for legal proceedings
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, parents, and the community to maintain positive relationships
- Coordinates and supervises extracurricular and co-curricular programs and activities as assigned
- Enforces the observation of all school policies, rules, and safety regulations
- Serve as a role model for students
- Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner

- Occasional interaction among unruly children
- Frequently move and position oneself as necessary to access and operate equipment
- Frequently move around the workspace and travel throughout the school building
