Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity with excellent work-life balance? Lakeview Urologic Surgeons in Erie, PA, is currently seeking a Part-Time Senior Professional Staff Nurse to join our team. This day-shift position averages 20 hours per week, with Mondays required and other scheduled days to be determined. No weekends or holidays are required.

As a Senior Professional Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care and setting the standard for clinical excellence within a collaborative, patient-focused team. You will use your clinical judgment, leadership skills, and compassion to provide and manage care for a diverse group of patients and their families. Title and starting pay rate of this position may vary based on experience and manager discretion.

Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage specialized equipment as required for patient care.
  • Apply sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to various aspects of patient care.

  • Demonstrate mobility and visual manual dexterity to perform clinical duties.
  • Maintain physical stamina to support frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning principles and apply them in teaching patients, families, students, and new staff.
  • Provide detailed and appropriate education to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care in both office settings and through phone or written communication at home.
  • Support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues through ongoing mentorship and guidance.
  • Create an environment of open dialogue, inquiry, and continuous development by seeking feedback and using it to improve practice.
  • Serve as a preceptor to all individuals entering the care area, fostering a supportive and educational experience.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships both internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues.

  • Assist the physician with all aspects of patient care, including assessment, evaluation, and education.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues within the episode of care.
  • Practice solid communication skills and effectively articulate and translate the patient’s condition to other care providers.
  • Negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care and office practices based on patient needs and clinical judgment.
  • Ensure comprehensive patient documentation that promotes effective communication between caregivers.
  • Incorporate the goals of national professional organizations, the business unit, and the health system to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  • Create a caring and compassionate, patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Actively participate in department or practice-specific quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement and communicate them to colleagues and management.
  • Take personal responsibility for improving patient satisfaction related to the quality of care and service provided.
  • Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support continuous improvement in clinical care.
  • Identify relevant research issues or articles related to clinical specialty or areas of professional interest to inform practice.
