UPMC Hamot is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Trauma Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (TNICU). This role is ideal for a team‑oriented nurse who thrives in a fast‑paced critical care environment and has a passion for learning and clinical excellence.
Schedule
- Rotating day/night shifts (50/50 rotation)
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other holiday rotation, with alternating holidays year to year

The TNICU is a 16‑bed unit located on the second floor of the patient care tower. The exceptional care delivered in this unit supports UPMC Hamot’s recognition as:

Position Purpose
The Professional Staff Nurse (RN) is an integral member of the care delivery team and is accountable for setting and maintaining standards for the level and quality of patient care. This role carries responsibility, authority, and accountability for nursing care delivered to patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
The Professional Staff Nurse demonstrates leadership through collaboration, partnership, communication, supervision, and the use of independent clinical judgment to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
