What You’ll Do
Deliver Exceptional, Age-Appropriate Surgical Care
Apply the nursing process within a Relationship-Based Care framework to create a safe, healing surgical environment.
Provide individualized, holistic, age-specific care to patients across the lifespan based on unit assignment.
Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and assess patient data to identify age-related care needs.
Deliver care in accordance with department policies, procedures, and perioperative standards.
Utilize strong clinical judgment to address safety, clinical, psychological, and social needs during the surgical episode of care.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive documentation to support effective team communication and continuity of care.
Collaborate in a High-Performing OR Team
Build strong, professional relationships with surgeons, anesthesia providers, executives, managers, advanced practice providers, ancillary staff, and patients/families.
Communicate effectively in a fast-paced, complex surgical environment.
Handle multiple and changing priorities while utilizing specialized OR equipment.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and process improvement initiatives.
Drive Quality & Professional Excellence
Actively engage in quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
Integrate evidence-based practice into clinical decision-making.
