Responsibilities
- Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Review patient medication profiles for allergies, interactions, and therapeutic duplications.
- Prepare and dispense intravenous admixtures using aseptic techniques.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify orders and provide drug information.
- Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.
- Sustain formulary compliance through therapeutic interchange and rational drug selection.
- Organize daily operational duties and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians and interns.
- Utilize available technologies to support safe and efficient pharmaceutical care.
- Provide education to healthcare professionals and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and hospital quality management policies.
