Position Highlights!
- Hybrid schedule
- Monday–Friday, daytime hours
- High visibility across two hospitals
- Deliver ongoing patient safety education, both formal and informal, to hospital staff across all departments.
- Investigate patient safety risks through rounds, chart reviews, interviews, inspections, and other methods.
- Ensure compliance with the hospital’s Patient Safety Plan, objectives, and national patient safety goals.
- Monitor and implement regulatory requirements from federal and state agencies related to patient safety.
- Review safety occurrences with physicians, managers, and department heads, identify trends, and recommend actions.
- Maintain investigative, claim, and legal files with strict confidentiality; assist legal counsel during litigation.
- Communicate significant safety events and potential claims promptly through established reporting mechanisms.
- Contribute to hospital-wide performance improvement by gathering and analyzing data in collaboration with peers.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to remain informed of patient safety incidents as they occur.
- Act as a role model to promote and sustain a strong culture of patient safety throughout the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related healthcare area required.
- 5 years of Clinical experience OR experience in risk, liability or loss control at the organizational level is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing in preferred.
- Ability to work with a variety of Microsoft office software systems.
- Analytical ability to prepare, review and present statistical data.
- Interpersonal skills to work with management and physicians, and all levels of staff.
- Certification in Quality Management from Health Care Quality Council Management preferred
