UPMC Pinnacle Medical Services is hiring a Part-Time Nurse Midwife to join their team a UPMC Memorial OB/GYN Specialists in York, PA! This position will be primarily located in York with regular travel to UPMC Carlisle.
Hours: This is a part-time position, 12- or 24-hour shifts. Monday through Sunday shifts. Rotating weekends and holidays.
Location: UPMC Memorial OB/GYN Specialists - 1880 Kenneth Road, Suite 3, York, PA 17408. Travel to UPMC Carlisle will also be required for this position.
Position Specifics: Obstetrics and Gynecology - Preferred Midwifery experience, preferred women’s health nursing/labor suite experience. Previous First Assistant experience preferred.
Department Details: Midwifery model of care practice at both York and Carlisle locations. Great physician and CNM collaboration with many system wide learning opportunities. CNM committees: education, practice and policy, quality, mentoring. Our CNMs report to a CNM. Our midwives also are career ladder eligible!

Purpose:
Provides comprehensive primary health care to a select population of essentially healthy women. Participates in the care of women with medical complications in collaboration with obstetricians/gynecologists.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate history and physical examinations on essentially healthy women, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose problems, and manage minor problems and illnesses.
- Provide primary care in an ambulatory setting to women: preconception care, prenatal care, labor and delivery management, postpartum care, normal newborn care, well-woman gynecology, family planning, counseling in health promotion, maintenance and disease prevention.
- Participate in research and continuing education activities.
- Instruct and supervise nursing and medical personnel.
- Follow the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.
- Identify deviations from normal and consults, co-manages or refers as appropriate.
- Provide individualized educational opportunities for students including mentoring, supervision and evaluation.
- Provide individualized client teaching and counseling utilizing the nurse midwifery philosophy.
