UPMC Vision Institute is hiring an Ophthalmic Technician to support our Tarentum office located at 303 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, PA 15084. This position works Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional 7:15 a.m. start times as technicians rotate schedules. The Ophthalmic Technician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing patient workups, documenting medical histories, obtaining diagnostic testing, preparing patients for examination and treatment, and assisting providers with clinical procedures. Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting, demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, and be committed to providing exceptional patient service. Travel to UPMC Vision Institute locations including St. Margaret, Monroeville, Wexford, Mercy, Oakland, and Shadyside may be required approximately once per month, with more frequent travel to North Hills based on clinic and staffing needs.
