Work Schedule:
- 20 hours per week.
- 8-hour and 12-hour shifts.
- Rotating daylight, evening, and overnight hours.
- Rotating, infrequent weekend and holiday coverage hours.
- NO on-call hours!
- Rare possible travel to our Children’s South location in Bridgeville for coverage support.
The MRI/CT Tech Assistant will support our MRI Technologists and other department staff with daily activities, and assist with the set up and execution of various MRI examinations! Join us today and advance your career in providing exceptional patient care at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh!
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and assists with paperwork.
- Answers phone calls regarding scheduling, questions, and patient history.
- Properly prepares the patient and MRI coil for accurate imaging, ensuring safe scanning and entrance into the MRI scan room, and conducts MRI screening.
- Assists with lifting and transferring patients to and from exam tables, as needed.
- Establishes IV access (e.g. for contrast administration) and assists technologist in the preparation of oral contrast for patients, according to established procedures.
- Performs telemetry monitoring during exam, as necessary, and transports patients to and from the unit when required.
- Provides discharge and general instructions to patients.
- Cleans and prepares exam rooms following established procedures.
