This role includes variable day, evening, and night shifts, with some holiday and weekend coverage. These are generalist positions that support and rotate through all areas of the laboratory.
- Applicants will be placed into the appropriate job title and salary based on their individual experience and education. The Medical Lab Scientist’s salary starts at $29.07/hour.

Responsibilities:
- Communicate professionally and courteously with all laboratory customers and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Follow all lab and hospital policies related to procedures, quality control, safety, and compliance.
- Collect and process specimens accurately, including phlebotomy when required, ensuring sample integrity.
- Perform precise qualitative and quantitative analyses according to established protocols.
- Identify and address critical or abnormal test results promptly, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, specimen, and supply issues following standard protocols.
- Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on lab equipment, conduct quality control and preventive maintenance.
- Manage reagents and supplies efficiently, maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of lab techniques, instruments, and physiological factors affecting test outcomes.
- Participate in test development, equipment evaluation, and implementation.
- Independently perform High Complexity Testing as defined by regulatory standards.
- Provide temporary first-line supervision as delegated.
- Train and orient new employees, students, and residents as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), OR
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, with 6 months of clinical laboratory experience OR
- Equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA ’88 for individuals performing high complexity testing.
- Minimum 1year’s experience in a hospital laboratory preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of a CAHEA accredited Medical Technology program OR;
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification OR;
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years’ experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory OR;
- Prefer 1 year of experience in a hospital laboratory.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Medical Laboratory Technician MLT(ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification preferred.
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred. - AMT Medical Technologists (MT)
