This position provides strategic and operational oversight of the Central Sterile Processing Department, partnering closely with Surgical Services, Infection Prevention, and interdisciplinary teams to drive efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role provides overall leadership and oversight of Sterile Processing operations, ensuring efficient day-to-day departmental management and strong leadership support. The Manager partners closely with supervisors and team leads, oversees timecard management and departmental scheduling, and maintains accountability for staffing and operational needs. Additional responsibilities include position management, applicant review and interviewing, and coordinating orientation and onboarding for newly hired staff. This position offers a Monday–Friday daylight schedule with no regularly scheduled weekends, while maintaining 24/7 accountability for staff support and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of sterile processing professionals, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
- Collaborate with OR clinicians and leadership to manage surgical tray inventory, consignment contracts, and instrumentation needs.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and ensure staff competency and orientation.
- Monitor departmental performance, budgets, and supply levels; provide regular reports to the OR Unit Director.
- Serve as a key liaison between Sterile Processing and internal stakeholders to ensure service satisfaction.
- Remain accessible for 24/7 staff support (no on-call, weekends, or holidays required).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support a culture of safety, accountability, and professional growth.
