Join the UPMC Somerset Team as a Mammographer! You'll perform imaging procedures independently, using your skills and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. UPMC is excited to offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year work commitment.
Schedule:
- Mammography: 1-2 days per week
- Radiology: Remaining days
- Daylight and evening shifts, including a weekend rotation
Responsibilities:
- You'll perform breast exams and document any scars, moles, or pertinent findings.
- Teach patients how to perform breast self-exams and explain the importance of annual clinical breast exams.
- Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols during procedures.
- Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for the best results.
- Document patient history in electronic records as needed.
- Ensure safety with radioactive materials.
- Perform mammography procedures proficiently, including proper breast compression and positioning.
- Prepare patients for mammography, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients to ease their fears and gain their cooperation.
- Make sure all exams are coded, tracked, networked for archiving and interpretation, and charges are entered.
