Maintenance Student Assistant (Co-Op)

Purpose:
Maintain system buildings, equipment and grounds.*Passavant Only*

Responsibilities:
 

• Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others. Perform ground maintenance including lawn care and snow/ice removal during the winter season. Assist in carpentry activities as they related to repairs, renovation or constructions. Paint and install/repair vinyl wall covering. Promote the hospital's image and maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a health care center. Demonstrate dependability, reliability and independent judgement recognizing priorities to Demonstrate cost consciousness through efficient use of time, materials, staff, equipment, supplies and available resources. Adhere to department Policy and Procedures Manuals. Maintain outdoor equipment in good working condition. Perform preventive maintenance on all outdoor equipment including hospital motor vehicles. Repair wall surfaces prior to application of finishes.
• Maintain professional, pleasant and effective communications both internally and externally. Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette. Perform security function when required. Operate cars, light trucks and maintenance equipment. Maintain, repair and install all types of miscellaneous equipment (such as wheelchairs and carts).Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors and others. Transport System equipment and materials. Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions. Accommodate department needs and acceptance of appropriate authority.
