UPMC Tri Rivers is hiring a casual Licensed Practical Nurse, OP to join their team. In this position, you will work up to 12-15 hours/week during weekday, daylight hours. This position will support 8 Rheumatology and Osteoporosis providers with rooming patients, responding to patient messages, refilling prescriptions, scheduling, completing medication authorizations and patient assistance forms, along with scanning documentation. Occasional travel to other office locations may be needed.
UPMC Tri Rivers is a multi-specialty office with a growing rheumatology an osteoporosis division. There is room for growth within the department and free parking available at all locations.
Responsibilities:
- Draw blood.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
