UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA seeks multiple Global Outreach Coordinators to provide and manage the Alzheimer’s Disease-Down Syndrome Outreach, Recruitment, and Education (ADDORE) program to help individuals, families, and their communities maximize and maintain program enrollment. Use data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating ADDORE activities. Supervise and direct and direct ADDORE activities. Oversee the research and development of outreach, education, and screening strategies to enhance the enrollment of minority and under-represented communities. Serve as a resource to assist individuals, other health professionals, and the community. Oversee research, outreach, and enrollment efforts across all eight (8) research sites, developing strong relationships with under-represented communities, building an online platform, and developing social media presence for the project. Maintain databases, mailing lists, and other information to facilitate the functioning of the program. Prepare and distribute educational materials emphasizing research findings, study goals, and patient enrollment benefits. Facilitate enrollment of individuals with Down syndrome in the Alzheimer’s Biomarker Consortium-Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) project through participation at conferences on Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease. Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with principal investigators, data management professionals, and research staff to develop a registry program used to analyze enrollment data. Facilitate research findings and progress reporting to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Document activities and record information, such as the number of participants, events and presentations, and persons contacted. Determine and implement ABC-DS eligibility and enrollment policies regarding issues such as patient disease severity/study participation eligibility, program requirements, and program benefits. Organize and implement training programs, direct the activities of, and evaluate ADDORE professional staff and program volunteers. Organize and host outreach events and community focus groups to foster relationships with underrepresented Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease patient communities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent in Social Work, Human Services, Communications, or related field,
  • One (1) year of Outreach Coordination, Program Management, or related experience:
    • Coordinating programming, outreach, recruitment, and engagement efforts;
    • Enhancing enrollment of minority and under-represented communities in health-related programs; establishing, developing, and nurturing relationships with under-represented communities
    • Developing and executing marketing plans;
    • Planning and implementing large-scale events;
    • Speaking at public engagements and in front of a diverse audiences.
