What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gift Shop Clerk I-Part Time position at UPMC?
Purpose:
Provides prompt, courteous service to the customers of the gift shop.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality control of outgoing merchandise.
- Assist customers with gift/flower suggestions and refers any customer complaints to Manager of Clerk II.
- Work weekends, evenings or holidays as needed.
- Stock candy, magazines and merchandise on a daily basis as necessary.
- Operate cash register and Lottery machine, opens and closes Shop.
- Inform Manager or Clerk II when stock items or supplies are low in need of re-ordering.
- Maintain shop (i.e. dusting, cleaning, rubbish removal) to ensure a safe and aesthetic environment.
- Conform to The Basics of Service Excellence as described in the hospital's orientation program.
- Answer any incoming phone calls and directs calls appropriately.
- Receive incoming merchandise, check invoices, unpack and assist with pricing as directed by Manger or Clerk II.
- Count change bank, Lottery bank and reconciles Lottery receipts at end of day when closing.
