UPMC is looking for a full time Fleet Transportation Dispatcher (CDL) to support our UPMC Employee Transit (Pittsburgh).
This position works daylight, Monday-Friday, 10 am - 6 pm. Weekends off!
Purpose:
The Fleet Transportation Dispatcher (CDL) will coordinate the activities of approximately 45 to 50 drivers on a daily basis. Keeping the pick-up and drop-off delivery times on schedule and ensuring an excellent customer satisfaction rating.
Responsibilities:
- Perform telephone communication responsibilities in a professional and courteous manner.
- Distribute work assignments in an equitable, accurate, and timely manner.
- Monitor shuttle routes and responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner.
- Log both routine and unusual information on the Daily Dispatcher Report.
- Accurately records information regarding daily transport requests, department user group complaints and employees reporting off from work on appropriate logs.
- Adhere to, know, and enforce all hospital and department policies and procedures pertinent to the Fleet Transportation Group.
- Routinely responsible for swapping vehicles and scheduling them for preventative maintenance and detailing.
- Adhere to, know, and enforce all pertinent PA state policies and procedures that impact the Fleet Transportation Group.
- Fill in as a driver as needed.
- When assigned, act as the primary back-up for the Supervisor and Operations Manager in their absence.
- Knowledgeable about all safety, fire, evacuation, and disaster policies and procedures.
- Attend department meetings when scheduled.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
- Train new employees to properly follow department procedures and policies.
- Responsible to provide interim solutions for department.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
