Central Sterile Processing Technician
UPMC St. Margaret Hospital is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our Central Sterile Processing Department. This vital department is responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. About Sterile Processing
• Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Assemble instrument trays and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory.
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to infection control and safety.
Shift Details:
• Regular shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Orientation Training schedule: Daylight hours from 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Orientation Period Timeframe:
• Typically lasts 4 months.
• Duration may vary depending on individual progression in the position.
• Some employees may require extended orientation, while others may transition sooner.
Sign-On Bonus:
Total bonus of $5,000 with a 2-year commitment to UPMC
Non-certified candidates:
• $2,500 awarded within 90 days of hire.
• Additional $2,500 awarded upon certification completion.
Certified candidates:
• Full $5,000 awarded within 90 days of hire.
