Responsibilities:
- Collaborate daily with nursing staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel across UPMC Pinnacle.
- Travel between UPMC Pinnacle facilities as needed to support pharmacy operations.
- Support departmental Performance Improvement initiatives and promote UPMC’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment, including restocking and returning medications to inventory.
- Complete required documentation (medication credits, charge forms, logs) in accordance with procedures.
- Assist in training pharmacy staff and students on work processes and procedures.
- Fill, restock, inspect, and manage medications (including automated dispensing cabinets), removing expired or recalled products as needed.
- Prepare, label, and deliver medications—including non-sterile compounds, sterile IV admixtures, and specialty products—under pharmacist supervision, ensuring accurate calculations and proper aseptic technique.
- Handle controlled substances in compliance with regulations and ensure pharmacist review prior to dispensing.
Provide customer service support by answering phones, processing interdepartmental orders, and monitoring pneumatic tube systems.
