This position offers flexible scheduling to work around your school commitments and includes a rotating 24-hour weekend call requirement for added experience.
What You’ll Do:
In this role, you’ll work under the guidance of experienced professionals and learn the essential skills needed for sterile processing. You will:
- Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and assemble surgical trays following established listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all decontamination and sterilization equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
- Monitor, read, and document sterilizer parameters to ensure proper function.
- Assess supplies for surgical procedures and set up case carts.
- Maintain inventory and ensure instruments and patient care equipment are properly cleaned and reassembled.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Display awareness of cost containment and efficient work practices.
