What are the responsibilities and job description for the CRNP, Staff (UPMC Nephrology) position at UPMC Pinnacle?
UPMC in Central Pa. — a growing, multisite health care system — has an exciting opportunity for a CRNP in Nephrology.
Primary Duties:
- Performs inpatient hospital consults on nephrology patients
- Treats and oversees the care of outpatient nephrology patients at the practice site
- Evaluates and manages treatment of adult nephrology patients requiring dialysis
- Provides for the referral of patients to other UPMC Pinnacle specialists or other physicians as appropriate
- Keeps full, adequate, and complete records of all services performed directly or under physician supervision of all patients seen at UPMC Pinnacle facilities in accordance with the standards set by UPMC Pinnacle
- Codes charges and diagnoses appropriate to the level of care given
- Provides direct patient care at a minimum of 36 hours per week and may be required to work evenings/Saturdays as per patient need
- Participates in a defined call schedule
- Participates in committees as appropriate
- Participates in external/internal audits (such as performance reviews, Medicare, third party payors, compliance officer) to ensure compliance with financial and clinical guidelines.
- Participates in utilization review and other committees as appropriate
- Works cooperatively with third party payors (Medicare, Medicaid, insurance) to provide for care of patients.
- Participates in quality assurance programs and performance improvement projects.
- Promotes professional conduct, such as adherence to HIPAA guidelines, confidentiality and putting the patient’s interests first.

Job Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited CRNP or PA program.

Licensure: Eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
