Position: Full-Time Patient Care Technician
Department: 3 Main Acute Care
Location: UPMC Passavant
Shifts: 36 hours per week; Rotating days, nights, weekends, and holidays required
Career Ladder: Title and rate of pay will be determined based upon individual qualifications, experience, and education. The minimum hourly starting rates for each level are as follows:

Position: Full-Time Patient Care Technician
Department: 3 Main Acute Care

Career Ladder: Title and rate of pay will be determined based upon individual qualifications, experience, and education. The minimum hourly starting rates for each level are as follows:
- Care Attendant: $18.19
- Nursing Assistant: $18.59
- Patient Care Technician: $18.99
- Patient Care Technician, Senior: $19.19
- Provide direct patient care under RN direction, including assisting with ADLs, procedures, and therapies
- Perform core PCT responsibilities, including vital signs, point-of-care testing, telemetry application, specimen collection, bladder scans, EKGs, and basic dressings
- Assist with unit and patient needs (e.g., responding to call lights, meal delivery, patient transport, and monitoring)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment while following infection control and safety protocols
- Monitor patients and report changes in condition or equipment issues promptly
- Document care accurately and complete clerical tasks as needed
- Support unit operations by stocking supplies and assisting with department activities
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support coordinated care
- Demonstrate professionalism by building positive relationships, supporting team initiatives, and seeking opportunities for growth and development
- Respond to emergent situations and provide patient supervision or assistance as appropriate
Salary : $18 - $19
