In this role, there is the opportunity to –
- Oversee daily operations of pre-analytical areas, including Phlebotomy, Specimen Processing, Patient Access, and more.
- Manage and supervise personnel within assigned departments and offsite locations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate consistent standards of excellence through action plans and performance.
- Foster a positive customer service atmosphere in all interactions.
- Collaborate with leadership to achieve system-wide goals in alignment with UPMC’s strategic plan.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term goals for all assigned divisions.
- Evaluate and optimize staffing, technology, and procedures to improve efficiency and teamwork.
- Manage purchasing, inventory, and supplies to minimize waste and prevent shortages.
- Ensure proper maintenance of instruments and maintain necessary documentation for compliance.
- Supervise personnel performance and delegate administrative functions as needed.
- Promote continuous improvement in testing, customer service, and employee satisfaction.
- Master’s Degree in Health or Business Administration and 1 year of relevant experience in a health care organization OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health or Business Administration and 2 years of relevant experience including 1 year in a health care organization OR
- Associate’s Degree in Health or Business Administration and 4 years of relevant experience including 1 year in a health care organization OR
- High School diploma and 6 years of relevant experience including 1 year in a health care organization.
