Job Overview
Uplift Hospice is a fast-growing organization seeking a versatile and motivated Analyst to join our finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Controller and gain hands-on experience across both accounting and financial planning functions. The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
This position will work closely with the Controller and play a key role in the month-end closing process, including involvement in accounts payable, reconciliations, and other core accounting activities. In parallel, the role will support financial planning and analysis efforts such as monthly variance reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial modeling. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting and finance and is comfortable shifting between tactical accounting work and strategic analysis, including occasional support for M&A evaluations and other special projects.
Key Responsibilities
This role includes responsibilities across three main areas:
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
o Pay and process vendor invoices in QuickBooks Online
o Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close process
o Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial statement preparation
o Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and work cross functionally with other functional teams
2. Financial Planning & Analysis
o Support financial forecasting, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet
o Perform monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis
o Assist with budgeting, performance reporting, and KPI tracking
3. Strategic & M&A Support
o Update and manage models for M&A, growth initiatives, and scenario planning
o Assist with due diligence and ad hoc financial analysis
o Conduct industry research and market benchmarking
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Technical Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (strongly desired)
· 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, FP&A, or corporate finance (required)
· Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
o Comfortable working with financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations
· Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills and experience in Excel
· Familiarity with financial modeling
Soft Skills
· Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Clear, effective communication skills—written and verbal
Additional / Preferred Skills
· Experience in healthcare services, hospice operations, or private equity-backed companies
· Exposure to M&A diligence or integration work
Work Requirements
· Employment Type: Full-time position
· Location: Role is based at Uplift Hospice’s corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ. While in-office presence is preferred, hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
o Candidates must be willing to commute to the office periodically for in-person meetings, collaboration, or support as needed.
· Work Environment: Standard office setting with prolonged periods of computer use and screen time
· Travel: Minimal travel required, but occasional travel may be necessary for team meetings, trainings, or site visits
· Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position
